Voiles latines /Latin sails

En Méditerranée, les bateaux ont un gréement très particulier, qui se caratérise par des voiles triangulaires rattachées au mât par une longue antenne;
Ce type de voile existe depuis des millénaires.
Et ce qui est fabuleux, c'est qu'il existe et fonctionne toujours!
La seule différence, c'est que par le passé, lorsqu'il n'y avait pas de vent, on sortait les avirons;maintenant, on met le moteur en route.
Et encore!Comme le montre la deuxième photo, certains courageux restent traditionnels jusqu'au bout!...

In the Mediterranean Sea, boats have a particular way to use the sails.That's what we call the Latin Sails.Those sails have a triangle shape, and are bound to the mast in a very special way.

This way to act exists since hundreds years, and it still works today!

The only difference is: in the past, when there was no wind, sailors used oars to make the boat move forward; now, they use a motor.

But, as you can see on the second picture, some courageous people still use the ancient way!
