Around here, we call that a "trompe-l'oeil", which means something like "make -the -eyes -believe -something -wrong"..At first sight, you think you're looking at a fountain, with water and plants, but it's only a garage's door! Nice graffiti, isn't it?..

Vraiment, il est réussi ce trompe-l'oeil! Mais ta première photo est prise sous un angle qui donne l'impression qu'il n'y a pas de profondeur avec cet escalier derrière...

If you hadn't mentioned it's a trompe l'oeil, I probably wouldn't have noticed, except maybe in the third picture. Very well done by the artist.
Great catch! It looked like a great fountain to me. . . and I wonder how big the garage is with the steps on the right -- can't be very big inless it goes under those steps inside.
